SPOKANE, Wash. – One of the four Spokane teens involved in a robbery and chase that ended with the death of an 18-year-old woman near Gonzaga University in February has pleaded guilty.
Christopher Gimmaka, 18, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery after a group of The robbery quickly escalated when the alleged theft victim found the items on Facebook Marketplace and arranged to retrieve them.The teenagers all arrived to sell the stolen tools back to the rightful owner but took off in ski masks after Crime Check was called.The victim chased the teenagers through Spokane, and court documents state that shots were fired at the victim during the chase. Police also began chasing the teens, which ended in a pit maneuver.Once apprehended by police, they discovered that had been shot and was found dead inside the car.Four , including Gimmaka, were arrested in connection to the robbery and are on track to face trial.Gimmaka is the first of the group to receive charges as he accepted a plea deal for 3 years and 5 months in prison for first-degree robbery on Friday.
