SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is preparing to release its 10-year strategic plan on Nov. 6. The plan will have implications for public transit across the greater Spokane area.
According to STA, the outline will showcase a potential expanded transportation framework to be implemented over the next decade.
A public hearing soliciting feedback on the strategic plan is scheduled during the regular STA board meeting on Nov. 21.
The past decade of STA services have focused on while between downtown and the greater Spokane area.
STA Chief Planning and Development Officer Karl Otterstrom is looking forward to discussing the new strategic plan with the public.
“It’s clear that the community is engaged and invested in the future of transit. We’re excited to take the next steps forward,” Otterstrom said in an STA announcement.
The strategic outline could include additional details on STA’s comprehensive plan to offer a low-income fare program and the administration’s zero-emission goals.
