STP reported they were dispatched to assist near Corkscrew Canyon, where they located a 21-year-old man.

The man allegedly attacked the responding officer. The officer attempted two taser deployments, but neither worked.

The officer struggled with the man until a backup police officer arrived. The man was tased several more times before being taken into custody.

The officer received medical attention and was treated for his injuries.

“I want to say great job to Spokane Tribal officers and EMTs for the job well done. Our officer received stitches for lacerations to his face. He is doing well and will return to duty when he is ready!” STP said in a Facebook post.
