Spokane Tribe celebrates 108th Annual Powwow

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Tribe of Indians celebrated its 108th Annual Powwow over Labor Day weekend.

Festivities at the powwow include stick game, an activity that has been practiced in the Inland Northwest for centuries and has been documented in-depth by regional and state archivists.

The Spokane Tribe operates a Powwow and Stick Game Youtube channel with more information and recordings of both ceremonial dances and the popular game.

It was an exciting few days that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Spokane Tribe and the way that the tribe continues to serve a in eastern Washington.
