Spokane Valley and District 8 firefighters respond to car down embankment on South Sullivan

Update on Oct. 2 at 4:40 p.m. – Firefighters said they have safely rescued the trapped driver.

According to Spokane Valley Fire, crews carried the driver up the embankment and placed her in a waiting ambulance to be transported to the hospital.

Update on Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m. – Spokane Valley and Spokane fire 8 crews have reached the car and are removing the doors to get to the driver.

Originally published on Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. – SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Spokane Fire District 8 and Spokane Valley firefighters are responding to a car that has gone down an embankment. Firefighters urge drivers to avoid the area.

According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the incident occurred on the 4400 block of South Sullivan. Firefighters are asking the public to steer clear of the area while crews work.
