SPOKANE, Wash. – The suspect in Sunday evening’s deadly drive by shooting on North Argonne Road and East Trent Avenue was accused of murder by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Monday.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Marc Rinard shot at a man who stopped at the intersection of Argonne and Trent.

“Rinard pulled his black Dodge truck up to the passenger’s side of the victim’s vehicle and began yelling at the victim…Suddenly, Rinard fired a pistol, striking the victim before fleeing the scene eastbound,” the sheriff’s office said.

The woman in the passenger’s seat of the car was not hit, while the man who was shot was pronounced dead at the intersection.

Sheriff’s deputies looked for Rinard’s truck and tracked it to a house on the 4900 block of North Rees Road. He was taken into custody after deputies approached him at the residence.

The sheriff’s office says that Rinard did not know the man he allegedly shot, and that he was driving erratically before the shooting.
