Spokane Valley firefighter’s car broken into while out on call

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A Spokane Valley firefighter said he was out on an EMS call when a man in a blue Ford Escape pulled up and broke into two people’s cars at the station on Sunday.

The person took a few items from Captain Tag Baugh, including a belt buckle given to him from his late father, who passed away in 2022.

“Small rectangular and had western scrollwork with a horse head on it,” Baugh said.

Baugh filed a report with crime check and asked anyone who sees the car or the belt buckle to call crime check.

Baugh is now hoping getting the word out can help the buckle return to his possession.

“I want the stuff back more than anything. If they want to return it, there is a table on the fourier they can set it on, ring the doorbell and leave. I’d appreciate it,” Baugh said.

Baugh also had some biking gear stolen, and the other car broken into didn’t appear to have anything missing.
