SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A man charged with shooting another man to death near a Spokane Valley Jack-in-the-Box is set to take a plea deal.
Jason Barton is accused of killing 41-year-old Dennis Vezina in September 2023. Police say Vezina walked into the lobby of the restaurant and died.
Authorities reported that Barton rode a bicycle to a nearby dumpster, got off the bike, and chased Vezina before shooting him.
Barton is expected to accept the plea deal on Monday. However, no details about the plea deal have been released.
