SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man accused of violently assaulting a woman and violating a restraining order Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 911 call alerted deputies that there was a problem. When deputies arrived, they say that they found that a woman had been violently assaulted by the man who broke into the home and then fled after the victim managed to call 911.
“[He] pushed his way into her home and began assaulting her, forcefully placing his hand over the victim’s mouth and nose to stop her from screaming, severely restricting her ability to breathe,” the sheriff’s office said.
The domestic violence suspect was arrested later that day near 6th Avenue and South Sullivan Road and booked into Spokane County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
