SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – One man has been taken to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries after being stabbed by someone police believe he knew.

Around 4 a.m., the Spokane Valley and Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of the stabbing at the 4700 block of East 1st Street and Custer Road.

Upon arriving, police learned that the suspect had left the scene and found a man badly injured inside a trailer home.

Police say the stabbing resulted from a disagreement that escalated into a violent assault and do not believe the incident was random.

The man was transported to the hospital after receiving medical care from first responders and is said to be in serious but stable condition.

The SCSO said there is no threat to the public but have not named the female suspect as she has not been booked into jail yet.

The investigation revealed the woman lived in the same trailer park and knew the victim.

More updates on this developing story will be provided as additional information becomes available.
