SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley deputies successfully located and arrested two suspects following reports of them allegedly beating and robbing a victim with a chain-wrapped club.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), on June 1 at around 11:05 am, Spokane Valley Deputies responded to multiple calls reporting a man being assaulted with a bat on East Sprague.

Callers provided descriptions of the suspects and informed that they were leaving westbound through a parking lot on bicycles.

Upon arrival, two Spokane Valley deputies swiftly apprehended the suspects, matching the descriptions provided by witnesses. The victim, who was assaulted and robbed, informed deputies that he was at the location to meet an acquaintance to purchase drugs.

Deputies learned that the victim initially met the buyer, who left before the assault and robbery occurred. Subsequently, the two suspects arrived, and instead of selling drugs, they demanded money from the victim.

A struggle ensued, during which the victim was struck with a chain-wrapped club. The victim reported that Guerro-Lopez and Corrales stole $23 in cash, his EBT card, bus pass, and a gold ring. Deputies recovered all the stolen items.

The victim sustained severe injuries to his face, head, and arm and was transported to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Additionally, deputies discovered a small amount of suspected Fentanyl powder in Corrales’ backpack, consistent with the victim’s report, along with four cell phones belonging to both suspects.

The two suspects were transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail, where they face charges of Robbery in the First Degree. Spokane County Superior Court Commissioner E. Cruz set their bond at $50,000.
