SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman was arrested after ramming her car into a deputy’s patrol vehicle and crashing into a fence and a truck while attempting to evade law enforcement.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Ella Villareal was wanted for attempting to elude officers during a previous incident on Oct. 25. On Oct. 29 at around 11 a.m., a deputy located Villareal’s car parked with the engine running on East Pacific. When the deputy activated his emergency lights and positioned his patrol car behind her, Villareal reversed into the vehicle, prompting the deputy to exit and draw his firearm.
Deputies said that Villareal accelerated past the patrol car, crashing through a fence and driving west on East 2nd Avenue. The deputy did not pursue but assessed the damage to his vehicle, which was minimal.
Another deputy said that they later spotted Villareal’s car traveling south on Carnahan and activated his lights as she turned onto 8th Avenue. Villareal drove recklessly, passing vehicles in oncoming lanes and running a stop sign. Deputies positioned spike strips but lost sight of her after she ran a red light at Argonne.
Shortly afterward, deputies said that they found Villareal’s car, which had crashed into a van. She was taken into custody and the van driver wasn’t injured. Deputies searched search of her car revealed a baggie with a white crystalline substance, suspected to be meth. Deputies said they obtained a search warrant for a blood sample, suspecting impairment.
Villareal was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and two counts of attempting to elude law enforcement, both felonies. She faces additional misdemeanor charges, including hit-and-run and driving under the influence, and was booked as a fugitive on an Idaho warrant for possession of dangerous drugs, pending extradition.
