Spokane Weather Recap: 4th hottest year on record

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane has officially marked 2024 as the fourth hottest year on record, with significant temperature highs throughout the year.

In mid-July, the average high temperature reached about 93 degrees, contributing to a summer that was the third hottest on record. July stood out as the hottest month, averaging a temperature of 92.6 degrees.

September also recorded high temperatures, becoming the second hottest September on record.

The year was not only notable for its heat but also for its wet conditions. November and December were marked as the second wettest period since record-keeping began in the late 1800s.

The coldest day of the year occurred on January 13, 2023, with a low of minus 10 degrees. In contrast, the hottest day was on July 21, 2024, when temperatures soared to 107 degrees.
