SPOKANE, Wash. – The historic “Mary’s Place” building on the South Hill was demolished on Wednesday morning.

Mary Gianetsas bought the home for $19,000 in the early 1900s and refused years of offers from Providence Sacred Heart to buy the space.

The home remained in her family for generations but recently went up for sale and was purchased by Diamond Parking.

The home was demolished, today on May 1.

Diamond Parking has not elaborated on its plans for the space.
