SPOKANE, Wash. – The Skyway Cafe at the Felts Field Airport caught fire early Thursday morning.
According to the Spokane Fire Department the fire started around 4:30 a.m. inside the grease vent. Firefighters quickly responded and extinguished the active flames inside the kitchen.
The flames were knocked down quickly, but crews are still facing heavy smoke.
SFD say that airport operations and general scheduled airfare won’t be affected by the fire, but the restaurant operations will.
East Rutter Avenue is closed from North Fancher Road to North Dora Road.
Crews remains on scene while they continue to assess damage and fight the smoke.
