Spokane’s Ultimate Bagel saved by Little Garden Cafe, keeping tradition alive

SPOKANE, Wash. – The delicious aroma of fresh bagels will remain in the Gonzaga district as a local coffee shop swooped in to save the Ultimate Bagel from closing for good.

The Ultimate Bagel previously due to overwhelming daily routine that became too much for the owners.

The Chapman’s who owned the store for over 30 years faced a variety of challenges in the last few years that led to the closure.

In the 30 years of business the bagel shop became a community staple especially to the Gonzaga community. to other amazing moments.

The closure begged the question of what would be next for the small bagel shop?

Through many speculations of what the store would hold none stood out more than the local option.

The Little Garden Cafe swopped in and announced it will be upholding the recipes and the legacy of the Ultimate Bagel as they take ownership of the shop.

“The secret is officially out! The Little Garden Cafe has bought our recipes and has been busy working with John learning the bagel making,” the Ultimate Bagel said on social media.

“They will be taking our space here by GU with our bagels, cream cheeses, sandwiches and their great baked goods, espresso and all our employees!”

The Chapman’s will be handing over their recipes and training Little Garden Cafe employees the secret to their success.

Little Garden Cafe will also bring their expertise in coffee making to the Gonzaga location making the shop the best of both worlds.

The shop will remain open while the store transitions meaning that the community can still get their bagel fix.
