A grey squirrel has been spotted enjoying a ‘stolen’ croissant in a tree.
The animal was spotted running with the pastry, which was “nearly the same size” of its body in Glasgow’s west end yesterday afternoon.
Grey squirrels‘ diet mainly consists of plant matter like nuts, seeds, insects, and bird food.
However, this Glasgow beast, which doesn’t appear to have missed a meal lately, had other ideas after snatching the baked good in Kelvingrove.
Eagle-eyed photographer Colin Mearns spotted the adorable creature with its win on Gray Street.
He quickly captured images of the mighty feast which was enjoyed up a tree.
It remains unknown how the squirrel secured the treat.
Colin said: “While driving into Gray Street, I noticed the squirrel run across the road with a croissant in its mouth.
“As I parked the car, the squirrel ran up a tree next to me, sat on a branch and guzzled the tasty morsel.
“So funny. Someone in the West End is down a croissant! It’s nearly the same size as the squirrel.”
