State fire mobilization called for 350-acre wildfire near Kahlotus

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. – A wildfire near Kahlotus in Franklin County is burning 350 acres and threatening homes, causing state fire assistance to mobilize, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

A press release says the Wallace Walker Road Fire started at around 2:19 p.m. on Monday and is threatening crops, power infrastructure and homes.

No evacuations are in effect and the cause is under investigation.

Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization at 5:45 p.m. The State Emergency Operations Center at Camp Murray is partially activated to coordinate the mobilization.
