UPDATED July 2 at 8 p.m. – State Route 17 has reopened near Ephrata according to the Grant County sheriff’s office.
EPHRATA, Wash. — State Route 17 is closed near Ephrata due to a wildfire.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), SR 17 is closed between SR 282 and SR 28.
GCSO said the fire started around 6 p.m. near the Ephrata gun range and was fueled by wind.
There are no evacuations at this time, and no homes are threatened. Incident command resources were requested from across Grant County.
There is no estimated size of the blaze at this time.
