Stranded astronaut Suni Williams has posed with a makeshift reindeer aboard the International Space Station this week.

“The decoration was crafted with excess hardware, cargo bags, and recently-delivered Santa hats,” NASA said.

Along with Butch Wilmore, the pair have now been told they will not return home before the end of March.

Their original mission was only meant to last eight days in June, but the Boeing Starliner spacecraft they arrived on was deemed unsafe to fly back on.

Expedition 72 Flight Engineer Butch Wilmore has also kept busy by installing futuristic new exercise gear. The station crew will test it using its advanced bicycling, rowing, and resistive capabilities.

The small and compact workout gear will be evaluated in the orbital outpost’s microgravity environment before being used on longer-term missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
