MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The suspect who allegedly shot a Moses Lake police officer on Saturday was arrested.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office confirmed 37-year-old Zachary Allen Stockton was arrested after he allegedly shot a Moses Lake police officer on May 4. The officer was transported to the hospital where they are recovering.
“There was an exchange of gunfire between a suspect and police. An MLPD officer was struck with a bullet, underwent surgery and is recovering,” MLPD said.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Moses Lake Motel 6.
GCSO said the Moses Lake Police Department will release information on the injured officer when available.
The Central Basin Investigation Team and a Grant County investigative team that investigates police shootings and major uses of force by officers, will investigate this incident.
