SPOKANE, Wash. – A Mason County man has been arrested for alleged manslaughter in connection with the death of a Spokane woman in Schafer State Park.
According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Ruth Saunders was found decomposing on June 11 in the middle of the park.
“Evidence from the scene suggested the body likely had been there for at least a couple of weeks,” the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives arrested a man who they believe was with Saunders in the days before her death on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s department did not offer the name of the suspect.
