SWAT standoff in Emerson Garfield neighborhood connected to Monroe Street shooting

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) and SWAT have responded to an incident in the Emerson Garfield neighborhood connected to a drive-by shooting on Monroe Street.

According to SPD, there was a heavy police and SWAT presence near Washington Street and Mansfield Avenue around 7 p.m. on Aug. 8. The standoff is related to the . SPD reported that the house involved is clear, but they are still gathering evidence and interviewing people at the scene.

Spokane police stated that there is currently no threat to the public. The situation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
