SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Police are at the scene of a SWAT standoff in Spokane Valley, where one burglary suspect has barricaded themselves inside a trailer.
According to a spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department (SPD), officers initially responded to a call about a home burglary that escalated into an assault. Police said the incident is being investigated as first-degree burglary.
SPD officials confirmed that one suspect is in custody. At around 10 a.m., officers tracked the second suspect to a trailer at East Rockwell Avenue and North Adams Road.
The suspect remains barricaded inside the trailer, and a SWAT team has been deployed, along with a negotiation team and a K9 unit.
