SWAT standoff in Spokane Valley ends in surrender

SPOKANE, Wash. – A SWAT standoff took place in the Spokane Valley Wednesday night.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a weapon call on North Locust Avenue around 9 p.m..

A man with several guns initially refused to leave the home according to law enforcement, but he was later detained without incident after SWAT ordered him to leave the house.

The sheriff’s office was still at the scene at around 10 p.m. awaiting a warrant to search the home.
