SWAT Standoff in Spokane Valley leads to arrest

SPOKANE, Wash. – A SWAT standoff took place in the Spokane Valley Wednesday night.

A person barricaded himself in a house and refused to leave according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The standoff began at around 6:15 p.m., and the suspect is believed to be armed with multiple guns inside the residence.

As of 9 p.m., the standoff was still taking place with drones, sheriff’s office cars and SWAT vehicles parked around the house on East 4th Avenue and S Park Street.

Updated 11:31 p.m. – SWAT took a suspect into custody after a five-hour standoff.
