SPOKANE, Wash. — Basketball players have flown from all over the globe to compete in the largest 3v3 basketball tournament in the world.
For Kevin Carlson, Hoopfest is a priority, so he planned his travel schedule around it.
“Yeah, I was in Japan for two weeks. I went to Enoshima, Tokyo, and Kyoto, and I kind of planned my trip around coming back for Hoopfest,” said Carlson.
Carlson has attended Hoopfest since fifth grade and has made it to Hoopfest every year. He flew to Spokane from Japan two days before the tournament started and is playing despite the jet lag and the adjustment from the different time zones.
Carlson said that he plans on playing in this tournament until his body won’t let him play anymore. He and his friends hope to continue the tradition for years to come.
