“It is with deep sadness that I inform you of a tragic event involving several of our students, who were involved in a serious incident this morning. Our hearts go out to our families, friends, and community members,” said John Adkins, Superintendent Wellpinit School District.

“We understand that this news may be difficult for many students, staff, and families. Counselors and support staff are and will be available to offer assistance and guidance during this challenging time. Please feel free to reach out if you or your child need support,” Adkins added.

WSP says the car was traveling on Wood Road and failed to stop at the stop sign before entering US-2 traffic. The car drove under a passing semi-truck heading westbound and became lodged under the truck.
