EPHRATA, Wash. – Three teenage boys were arrested near Ephrata after a police chase involving a stolen car. The boys, aged 14, 14, and 16, were allegedly found with guns and drugs.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office the incident began when they received a report of a stolen black Ford Fusion around 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning in Mattawa.

By 8:30 a.m., an officer attempted to stop the stolen car, but the driver fled as the officer approached.

The pursuit led the stolen Ford Fusion south on Dodson Road Northwest. However deputies ended the chase due to dense fog making conditions unsafe.

The boys were eventually caught after police deployed spike strips. The car was stopped, and the teenagers fled on foot but were quickly found in an empty irrigation canal under Dodson Road.

The teenagers were arrested and taken into custody. Deputies discovered a .22-caliber revolver, a stolen .22-caliber rifle, and a small amount of drugs with the boys.

The teenagers were then transported to Chelan County Juvenile Center. They face charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and attempting to elude police.
