SPOKANE, Wash. – The City of Spokane has announced several closures and service changes for the Thanksgiving holiday.
City facilities and services will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 28 and 29. This includes all Spokane Public Library locations, the Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services.Spokane 311 employees will also be unavailable for in-person, phone, or online customer service on these dates. Residents can still access Spokane311.org for inquiries, with responses provided the next business day.The Development Services Center will also be closed on November 28 and 29.Solid Waste Services will adjust its schedule for the holiday week. For residents with garbage pickup on Thursday and Friday, collection will be delayed by one day. Thursday pickups will occur on Friday, November 29, and Friday pickups will happen on Saturday, November 30.The Waste-to-Energy Facility recycling and disposal site will be closed on Thursday, November 28, but will operate during regular hours for the rest of the week.Riverfront Park attractions will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but open the rest of the week.
This week marks the final Clean Green yard and food waste pickup for the year. Starting in 2025, this service will include the first full weeks of January, February, and December.
On Thanksgiving Day, on-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment. However, all parking rules, including time limits, will still be enforced.
Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly for these closures and service adjustments.
