COUER D’ALENE, Idaho – The Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations has responded to the alleged planned terror attack on local churches by 18-year-old Alexander Scott Mercurio.
KCTF said that they learned of the threat on Tuesday and said the FBI had provided information that the teen had sworn an oath to ISIS and allegedly told an informant he once had supported “white supremacy”.
The KCTF said they actively work to address these kinds of issues and “counter the work of hate groups and hate crimes such as Aryan Nations, Order One and Order Two.”
Additionally, they reminded the community that no one is exempt from the threat of violence and emphasized the role of law enforcement in ensuring community safety.
