SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane River Centennial Trail has reopened after the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission resurfaced it with a new layer of asphalt.
The construction project which started in April and was initially anticipated to conclude by early September.
The newly resurfaced segment spans westward from the Washington/Idaho border to the Donkey Islands Trailhead in Millwood.
According to the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, the fresh asphalt layer promises trail users a smooth surface for walking, running and cycling for the next 25 years.
