SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane is a city which has always made an outsized impact, from Expo ‘74 to the national congress. But one underappreciated fact about the Lilac City is that we have our very own muppet.
Mildred, a muppet who was hired as the proofreader of Muppet Magazine in the spring of 1983, is from Spokane.
In addition to her work as a journalist, Mildred is also an opera singer and candy enthusiast.
Unfortunately, Mildred does not star in any current muppet media. However, she is still a Spokane icon and an important part of muppets history. She debuted in 1974, although it is unclear whether she had the opportunity to visit the Expo that year.
