Thief attempts to steal holiday cheer from Spokane home

SPOKANE, Wash – Alicia Davies has been leaving goodies for delivery drivers on her front porch for the last decade, but that came to a halt when one Grinch stole them all for themselves, and it was all caught on this camera. Davies says she filled the cart with sweet treats, drinks, and hand warmers for the delivery drivers hard at work.

“It’s disheartening. But, we’re not going to be discouraged or so going to leave snacks out and show our appreciation or delivery drivers,” said Davies

According to the USPS website, in 2022, the Postal Service processed more than 11.7 billion mailpieces and packages during the holiday season.

Davies says despite the theft, she’ll continue her tradition of giving back, “Thank you so much. You make my life easier and a lot of other people’s lives easier. Not having to go out and fight the crowds at the mall, wherever it’s, just to be able to order from the comfort of your home and have it on your doorstep in a day or two is just priceless.”

As for the thief, she hopes it was worth it, “I hope you enjoy the snacks. I hope you like those little Debbie Christmas trees as much as our mailman does.”

We reached out to UPS for a statement, and they told us that they also see an increase in volume during the holiday season and added that Davies isn’t the only customer with the well-being of driver in mind, “some customers thank our drivers with heartfelt items such as cookies, water, sports drinks, even cards and artwork from the kids– thoughtful gestures that we appreciate.”
