SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County deputies arrested three people on Tuesday for stealing a U-Haul.

According to a press release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a stolen U-Haul van around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They located the van in the parking lot of a Safeway on West Francis Avenue.

The deputies detained the suspects inside the van, later identifying them as Leslie Davis, 42, Nataliya Willard, 32, and Jarad Eggman, 42, along with another man.

The investigation revealed that the U-Haul had been reported stolen on Sept. 8. It was also determined that Davis and Willard had rented the U-Haul from the original renter but never returned it, leading to daily charges for the rental.

Davis was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of Possession of a stolen motor Vehicle and theft of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $2,500.

Willard was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, identity theft and two misdemeanor warrants. However, she was refused entry at the jail due to previous medical issues and was transported to the hospital for additional care by AMR. A charging request for the new charges was submitted to the prosecutor’s office, and her misdemeanor warrants remain active.

Deputies said they determined that Eggman and the additional man were not involved in the theft or possession of the stolen U-Haul and were not charged. However, Eggman was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant and was transported to the Spokane County Jail for it.
