SPOKANE, Wash. — Traffic delays are expected Sunday morning as runners race to finish The Spokane Marathon on Oct. 13.
The half marathon will start at 7 a.m. in downtown Spokane, near the corner of Washington and Main Street. According to The Spokane Marathon’s website, the marathon and marathon relay will begin at 7 a.m., runners for the 10k will start at 8 a.m., and those running the half marathon will begin at 9 a.m. All races will end near the Spokane Veterans Arena on 720 W Mallon Avenue in Spokane.
According to the Spokane Police Department, The Spokane Marathon will affect traffic due to temporary road closures. Brown’s addition will experience road closures from 7 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. as runners race through the set course.
Government Way will also have some brief closures, and Howard Street and Mallon Avenue will be affected from 8:15 to 1:00 p.m. Drivers are asked to drive cautiously.
