Truck hauling unsecured hay near Cheney endangers drivers on highway

SPOKANE, Wash. – A truck hauling hay along the highway was stopped by the Washington State Patrol after not securing it and endangering other drivers.

WSP’s commercial vehicle enforcement team noticed the semi-truck on SR 904 near Cheney carrying a large amount of hay.

Upon noticing that the load was not secured in any way, WSP pulled over the driver and issued an out-of-service (OOS) violation for endangering other people on the roads.

The truck also received violations for malfunctioning trailer brakes and suspension issues.

No one was injured in the incident, but WSP reminds drivers that it is important to secure your loads, especially when driving on freeways and highways.
