WASHINGTON, D.C. – President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum for the position of Interior Secretary.
In other political news, the chair of the House Ethics Committee announced on Friday that the committee has postponed, but not canceled, a meeting to discuss a report concerning Matt Gaetz. Gaetz has been nominated by Trump for the position of attorney general.
Rep. Mike Simpson, a Republican from Idaho Falls, shared his thoughts when asked by reporters on Wednesday. He expressed concern over Gaetz’s nomination and urged the Ethics Committee to release its report before the Senate proceeds with Gaetz’s confirmation.
“President Trump has done an excellent job appointing selections for his next cabinet and key administration posts,” Simpson said. “However, the nomination of Congressman Matt Gaetz as attorney general is concerning.”
