Two 13-year-olds injured in Quincy after being struck by suspected drunk driver

QUINCY, Wash. — Two 13-year-old boys were seriously injured after being struck by a suspected drunk driver in Quincy.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred as the boys were walking south on the shoulder of the 8500 block of Road T Northwest. They were reportedly hit from behind by a car driven by Rene Molina, 25, which then left the road, struck a ditch and hit a mailbox.

Grant County deputies reported that the boys sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital in Wenatchee.

Deputies said that they arrested Rene Molina on suspicion of DUI and two counts of vehicular assault. He was booked into the Grant County Jail.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit is investigating.
