Two arrested in Moses Lake for child endangerment, drugs and firearms

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Two people were arrested in Moses Lake for allegedly endangering a child and possessing firearms and drugs in their home.

According to the Moses Lake Police Department, Samuel Cantu, 41, and Nicole Ortega, 33, were arrested after authorities received information about children being in danger. Police served a search warrant at a residence near Wall Street, where they reportedly found six firearms, distribution quantities of methamphetamine, scales, and packaging materials.

In addition to child endangerment charges, Cantu faces charges related to methamphetamine sales in a school zone and weapon enhancements. The children in the home were placed with Child Protective Services.

Both suspects were booked into the Grant County Jail on multiple charges of child endangerment involving controlled substances.
