SPOKANE, Wash. — A man and woman were arrested after being suspected of breaking into a building. Both were identified as felons, and police later discovered that one of the suspects was in illegal possession of drugs and a loaded gun.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a possible burglary report on Tuesday around 8 a.m. in the South Howard Street area. Upon arrival, security informed police about an open window at the back of the building and signs of a break-in.

The police located and detained the suspects, identified as Caleb Morrow, 38, and Bailey Bancroft, 20. While both were handcuffed, officers noticed white powder on Morrow’s clothing. Further investigation revealed that Morrow had an outstanding arrest warrant in Cheney. Police discovered a significant quantity of drugs, cash, and a loaded firearm during the search. Among the items were a bag containing about 130 small blue pills, suspected to be counterfeit fentanyl, and a bag of white powder.

Due to a prior felony conviction, Morrow is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of criminal trespass, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of legend drugs with intent to distribute.

Bancroft was also taken into custody for an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Department of Corrections and for criminal trespass charges, according to police.
