Two injured after fleeing from police and hitting power pole in Bemiss neighborhood

SPOKANE, Wash. – Two people are injured after fleeing from Spokane police and crashing into a pole in the Bemiss neighborhood.

According to the Spokane Police Department, a car did not yield to SPD on Thursday morning and began to flee.

SPD say they did not engage in a chase for the car but were later notified by a citizen of a crash in the area. The car matched the description of the car that was seen fleeing.

The car crashed into a power pole on North Crestline Street and East Walton Avenue causing an outage.

SPD quickly secured the scene and closed down Crestline Street to help crews restore power safely.

The two people inside the car were transported to the hospital with injuries and their condition is unknown.

SPD say that there are no arrests made in the incident yet. Crestline Street is closed as crews work to clear the scene.
