SPOKANE, Wash. – A two-car crash on Mt. Spokane Park Drive resulted in two people being seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Among those injured was a Washington Department of Transportation worker.
Updated on Oct. 28 at 10:15 a.m. – According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred while two Department of Transportation workers were addressing a dead deer on the roadside.
They were in a marked truck with flashing lights. One worker was attempting to move the deer into the truck, while the other was directing traffic when a driver failed to slow down.
The driver did not stop and hit one of the Department of Transportation workers, pinning them between the two cars.
One worker was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries, and the driver of the car was also hospitalized with head trauma.
