SKAMANIA COUNTY, Wash. – A search for two Portland men who went missing while looking for Sasquatch in Eastern Skamania County ended with both being found dead.
Family members reported the men missing and endangered last week. A Skamania County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue coordinator led the efforts to find them near Willard, Washington.
Over three days, more than 60 volunteer search and rescue personnel joined the search. Despite their efforts, the 59-year-old and 37-year-old men were found dead in a heavily wooded area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
The deaths appear to be due to exposure, attributed to weather conditions and a lack of preparedness.
