SPOKANE, Wash. — Ultimate Bagel, a beloved spot for bagels in the Gonzaga neighborhood, is closing just before Thanksgiving.
The closure marks the end of an era for this establishment that has been serving fresh bagels daily for nearly 30 years.

Christy Chapman, one of the co-owners, experienced a serious car accident while driving to the shop. She is still recovering and undergoing physical therapy months later.
