SPOKANE, Wash. — Ultimate Bagel, a beloved spot for bagels in the Gonzaga neighborhood, is closing just before Thanksgiving.
The closure marks the end of an era for this establishment that has been serving fresh bagels daily for nearly 30 years.
As reported by the Spokesman-Review, this decision stems from the overwhelming daily routine that became too much for the owners.
Christy Chapman, one of the co-owners, experienced a serious car accident while driving to the shop. She is still recovering and undergoing physical therapy months later.
Ultimate Bagel has been a convenient stop for morning commuters and a staple for students at Gonzaga. To support the owners during the closure, visit them at 1217 North Hamiliton during normal business hours.
