SPOKANE, Wash. – Workers at Providence Health and Services are deciding today to authorize a strike against Providence due to a wage disagreement

Spokesperson from Providence was disappointed in the progress of the talks and said.

“Providence is disappointed that UFCW 3000 was unwilling to come to terms on an offer that would maintain our market position and provide several enhancements for our caregivers – including wage increases of between 6% and 9.75% for caregivers in the first three months of the contract.”

Hayes added that Providence and UFCW 3000 negotiations stalled as the union “continued to modify its positions on critical issues without offering viable solutions.”

A UFCW 3000 spokesperson told NonStop Local that the vote results would be revealed tomorrow, April 12.
