SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Firefighters were dispatched to an unoccupied house that caught on fire in Spokane Valley early Wednesday.
According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the blaze was quickly controlled, and no injuries have been reported.
Fire officials stated that the majority of the damage is concentrated at the back of home at 4900 block of North Evergreen Road.
What caused the fire remains undetermined. They plan to maintain their presence at the site as assessments continue.
Initial reports suggested a power line issue may have been involved. An Avista Utilities truck was on-site, with a crew member working on the power line, indicating a possible connection to the fire.
Attempts to contact the homeowner have been unsuccessful. Fortunately, the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire, confirmed the fire department.
Residents in the area are encouraged to stay cautious and remain clear of the scene while investigations and work continue.
