Vandal Science Day set for Oct. 4 at University of Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho — Vandal Science Day, a free and public event, will take place Oct. 4 on the University of Idaho campus, offering hands-on science activities and opportunities to connect with faculty and students.

According to the University of Idaho, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and features interactive science exhibits, research presentations, and a chance for attendees to explore various scientific fields and their real-world applications.

The schedule includes:

– 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Science Trail: Participants can earn stamps by engaging in interactive exhibits and activities, view research posters, and purchase items from the geology club. A completed stamp card will qualify attendees for a prize drawing at 3 p.m.

– 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Laboratory Tours: Tours will include the Polymorphic Games Studio, Mammoth fossil lab, and NMR chemistry lab.

– 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Lunch: Attendees may bring their own lunch or visit nearby restaurants.

– 1 – 2 p.m. Science Trivia Contest: Participants can test their science knowledge for a chance to win prizes.

– 10:30 a.m. – noon Lightning Talks: Faculty and students will give short presentations on various science topics.

– 2:15 – 3 p.m. Student Research Showcase: Current students will discuss their research projects.

– 3 p.m. Prize Drawing: Attendees will have the chance to win a $500 scholarship, gift basket, or other prizes.

Vandal Science Day aims to engage the community and promote science education. The event is located at the Integrated Research and Innovation Center (IRIC).
