SPOKANE, Wash. – The Vanessa Behan Center is reaching out to the community for support as it works to assist families in crisis. The center is currently about $80,000 short of its fundraising goal.
Amy Vega from Vanessa Behan explained the center’s approach to helping children and parents.
“We are very intentional. So this space is where just our children would be. So parents would not come back to this space,” she said.
The center aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for children while their parents deal with stressful situations.
Vega emphasized the importance of the center’s services for both children and parents.
“Parents are coming to us because they’ve got something going on in their lives,” she said. The center offers support in various ways, including assistance with housing, medical care, and stress relief.
The Vanessa Behan Center also focuses on building strong relationships with families.
