WASH. — Public Service employees are being asked to support Walk Out for Washington, demanding better working conditions.

According to the Washington Public Employees Association (WPEA), they are partnering with the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) to rally public service employees for Walk Out for Washington on Tuesday, September 10 at Noon.

The strike is expected to be 50,000 workers leaving their jobs early to demand livable wages, safe staffing, and improved work environments.

“The State has proposed a pay cut at the bargaining table, essentially asking tens of thousands of public employees to accept less,” said WPEA on their website. “After 25 years of pattern bargaining, Washington Public Employees have lost between 20-30% of their purchasing power. In response, thousands of public employees are standing up and joining the Walk Out for Washington!”
